Super Bowl XLIV
The first Super Bowl was arranged by the American Football League (AFL) and the National Football League (NFL) in 1967. At the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, on January 15, the AFL’s Kansas City Chiefs battled the NFL’s Green Bay Packers in front of nearly 62,000 fans. The Packers won, 35 to 10. According to USA Football, Inc., January 15th also marks the anniversary of the first pro bowl, which took place in 1939 and featured the New York Giants’ 13-to-10 defeat of an all-star team.
