1. Purpose:
In order to maintain the cleanliness and the desired appearance of
all District facilities, it is necessary to limit the access of food
and drink into buildings to assist administrative and custodial
personnel to maintain their assigned duties for school
appearance.
2. Policy:
Food and drink shall be restricted to areas within the school
building designated as an area for food and drink.
3. Procedure:
- 3.1. Wherever possible, this area for students should be in
the school cafeteria.

- 3.2. Waste receptacles should be available, and students
taught to use them.

- 3.3. Teachers and administrators should designate an area such
as the faculty room or lounge. Teachers may eat in
classrooms. (Neg. 7-11-86)

- 3.4. No one should take food or drink from these areas to
auditoriums, gymnasiums, etc.

- 3.5. In an event such as a class party, birthday party,
special event, etc. should occur, permission shall be received
from the school principal if food or drink is served in any other
area that has not been designated as a food or drink area.
Birthday parties at school are not encouraged every time a student
has a birthday!
