DISCUSSION ITEMS
Enrollment
Brent Bills reported that the projections for enrollment are very close but are a little lower than expected.
Assessment Information
Brad
Ferguson reviewed the assessment results from the BSCT, Direct Writing
Assessment, and CRT tests. He also shared information on the
testing schedule for the upcoming year. He said that remediation
courses are being set up for those students not passing the BSCT test
on the first attempt. He reviewed data from the assessment tests
given in the elementary and intermediate schools. Mr. Ferguson
will put together a summary packet for the Board.
Physical Facilities
Ken
Naylor reported that the new Desert Hills High School looks
spectacular. He proposed that the Board schedule a time to walk
through next month. Work is being done on the roofing and the gym
complex. Superintendent will let Mr. Naylor know when a walk
through could be scheduled. Mr. Naylor also reported on the
completions of Tonaquint Intermediate School, Pine View High School
remodel, and Hurricane Intermediate School. He also talked about
the progress at Heritage Elementary School. The new design for
the elementary schools is more modern and looks really good. He
reported that the new Maintenance building and Preschool building are
ready to be bid.

Lyle reviewed the Workplace Violence policy proposed.
Member Morris presented a motion to approve policy 1421 Workplace Violence. Member Blake seconded the motion that passed
unanimously.
Snow Canyon High School Remodel
The Snow Canyon High School remodel approval postponed until October Board Meeting to allow cost proposals to be prepared.
Desert Hills High School Change Orders
Member Blake presented a motion to approve building a concession stand,
with the District being responsible to build the shell and restrooms
and the remainder to be completed by the school. Member Hesson seconded
the motion that passed unanimously.

Kathleen Wagner
talked about the referendum and encouraged the Board to help inform
others of the facts. She mentioned that Carol Lear had a great
